你在这里做什么呢?你住在这附近吗?
Nick: Actually, my office is right around the corner.
事实上,我的办公室就在转角处。

「重要发音技巧」
And we're back. For now, here are some useful pronunciation tips. Let's take a look. 欢迎回来,现在一起来看一下对话中的实用发音技巧。
1. 辅元连读 Flap T:What are
对话中:Ana :What are you doing in this neighbourhood?
连读分析:前一个单词词尾为辅音,后一个单词开头为元音的时候,可以做辅元连读,读为/wʌtɑːr/。
Flap T 分析:/t/ 在两个元音之间且非重读的时候,/t/ 可以读为一个很轻的/d/, 所以读为/wʌtɑːr/。
复述:What are you doing in this neighbourhood?
2. 辅元连读: in a
辅元连读 Flap T:bit of
对话中: Nick: I'm in a bit of a hurry.

「核心单词掌握」
OK, all right. Let's look at some interesting vocabulary here.好的,我们来看一些有趣的词汇。
So first word is investment. 那么第一个单词是investment。
1. investment /ɪnˈvestmənt/ n. 投资Dialogue里面Ana提到的foreign investment,对外投资。如果想要投资,一定少不了要有投资机会对吧,所以投资机会就是investment opportunities。Okay, I have another interesting word for you and that's conference.好,我还有另外一个有趣的单词,那就是conference。
2. conference /ˈkɑːnfərəns/ n. 会议Dialogue里面Ana:It was great to meet you last week at the conference.
所以在会议上,就是at the conference。那如果是参加会议,就是 attend a conference。
Alright, the last word that I wanna take a look at is embarrassing.好的,最后一个来学习的单词是embarrassing。
3. embarrassing /ɪmˈbærəsɪŋ/ adj. 令人尴尬的. In the beginning of our lesson, I said it was an embarrassing situation. So we also could say: That was an embarrassing situation for Nick.今天课程开始的时候,我有提到是一个尴尬的场景,那我们也可以说,对Nick来说,那是个令人尴尬的场面。
「实用口语表达」
For now let's look at some interesting phrases.我们一起来看看核心的表达。Okay, the first one is “How's it going?”.好的,第一个是 “How's it going?”。
1. How's it going? 最近怎么样?
This is a really great phrase, sounds really really natural. Sometimes, I hear my students say "how are you?" or "how are you doing?".这是一个非常好的短语,听起来非常非常自然。你知道有时候,我听到学生说,你好吗?或者你过得怎么样? Those are two great phrases, but this one sounds really really natural. It just sounds more casual.这是两个很好的短语,但这个听起来真的真的很自然,只是听起来比较随意。
Ok. Now let's look at our second phrase and it's "contact details"好的,现在让我们看看我们的第二个短语,它是联系方式。
2. contact details 联系方式So what are your contact details?你的联系方式是什么?Basically, this is information you can find on your business card.基本上,这是你可以在名片上找到的信息。All right. So we have like our name, our telephone number.好的,会有我们的名字,电话号码。Your e-mail address, perhaps your mobile phone number.你的电子邮件地址,也许还有你的手机号码。So all the useful information that people can get in touch with you.所以,是别人可以与你取得联系的所有有用信息。Yeah, so people can phone you or email you.是的,这样人们就可以给你打电话或发邮件了。
So for Ana in this dialogue, she could say: I'll give you my contact details. 所以对Ana来说,她可以对Nick说,我给你我的联系方式。
So our third phrase is “in a bit of a hurry”.
所以我们第三个短语是“有点匆忙”。
3. in a bit of a hurry 有点匆忙
So Nick was in a hurry.所以尼克是有点匆忙。 This is a great phrase. So let's listen to some examples of how you can use this phrase.这是一个很棒的短语。让我们来听一些例子,看看这个短语的用法。Example 1 例1Can you drive faster? I'm in a bit of hurry.你能开快点吗?我有点急。Example 2 例2I can't talk right now, I'm in a bit of hurry.我现在不方便说话,我有急事。Now let's look at our next phrase. And it's “slip my mind”.好的。所以我们的下一个短语是“我忘记了”。
4. slip my mind 我忘记了 This is a funny phrase. It's kind of strange, right?这是个有趣的短语,有点奇怪,对吧? So, now, we're gonna listen to two examples of this phrase. Try and see if you can figure out what it means.
没错,现在我们来听两个关于短语的例子。试试看你能不能搞明白这是什么意思。
Example 1 例1
I'm sorry I forget to respond your e-mail. It just slipped my mind.对不起,我忘了回你的电子邮件了,我忘记了。Example 2 例2 - Don't you know what day is it today?你不知道今天是什么日子吗?- Oh, it's your birthday. It completely slipped my mind.噢,今天是你生日。我完全忘了。
Ah, so slip my mind, it's like I forgot.啊,我忘记了,好像我忘了。You forgot something.你忘了某些东西。
Now our last phrase is “terrible with”.
现在我们最后一个短语是“不怎么样”。5. terrible with...
(在某方面)不怎么样So we have a couple of examples that would show you how this phrase works.我们有几个例子来说明这个短语的用法。
Example 1 例1You're terrible with numbers, you can't even remember your own telephone numbers.你对数字一窍不通,连自己的电话号码都记不住。Example 2 例2I'm terrible with direction. I'm always getting lost.我的方向感很差,总是迷路。
Now, it's time for us to review what we've learned today.

诺哈网2023-08-01 11:26:370000第24期:Where should we eat?
