Well, almost everyone has been scared to sleep by all kinds of mysterious and scary stories in our lives, especially when a new neighbor moves in, the lights in the house are not turned on, and no one is walking around...

Today we're gonna learn a dialogue about vampire. The two housewives are discussing the strange new neighbor who's acting really weird.

今天我们要学习一个关于吸血鬼的对话。两个家庭主妇正在讨论这个奇怪的新邻居，他的行为真的很奇怪。

A: Oh, I don't know if you heard, but someone moved into that old house down the road.

B: Yeah, I know. I met the owner of the house yesterday as he was moving in. His name is Armand.

Why would he... 你看见了！为什么他。。。

C: Hello ladies...

女士们你们好。。 B: Ah, Armand! You scared the heck out of me! This is my friend Doris. 嗯，阿尔芒，你吓死我了。这是我的朋友，多丽丝。

C: A pleasure to meet you...If you are not doing anything tonight, I would like to have you both for dinner. I mean...I would like to have you both over for dinner. 很高兴认识你。。。如果你们晚上没事，我想请你们吃晚餐。我的意思是。。我想请你们过来一起吃晚餐。

「重要发音技巧」

Welcome back! Now let’s learn some tips about pronunciation in the dialogue.

欢迎回来! 首先咱们来学习刚才对话中的一些发音技巧。

辅元连读：前后两个单词，前一个单词的最后一个音标是辅音，后一个单词的第一个音标是元音，通常要连读。例如：get up，get最后一个音是辅音，up第一个字母是元音音标。

1. sort of 和 peek into

对话重现：

I tried to, sort of, peek into his house.

我试着去偷偷看了一下他的房子。连读分析：

首先是sort of，/sɔrt/结尾的/t/直接接of /əv/，一起读作/’sɔrtəv/。注意！连读时候需要把握细节的部分：of肯定是轻读，轻读速度快，所以sort重读，of轻；sort的重音位置在“so”。如果是偏美式的发音，/t/在连读过程中会变成/d/，非常轻的/d/带过哦！

然后是peek into，同理，peek结尾的/k/直接接into里的/ɪ/连读，同样要注意这里的轻重音控制，peek的pee部分重，k和后面的into一起连读了，所以快且轻。具体可以听一听老师的语音讲解~

2. pull into

对话重现：

A delivery truck pulled into his driveway.

一辆送货卡车驶入他的车道。连读分析：pull /pʊl/在本句中变成过去式加了ed所以变/pʊld/，最后的/d/直接接into/ˈɪn(t)ə/，读作/ˈpʊldɪn(t)ə/。

3.drop off

对话重现：

It dropped off a long, rectangular box.

车上掉下来一个长方形盒子。连读分析：

dropped的结尾/d/和off的开头/ɒ/形成连读，也就是要在dropped本身的d发音结尾之前直接连上元音/ɒ/，一起读作/drɔp'tɔf/，如果是偏美式的发音，大家注意/t/会变成/d/，非常轻的/d/带过哦！具体可以听一听老师的语音讲解~

4. guess what I saw

对话重现：

Well, you’ll never guess what I saw this morning.

好吧，你永远猜不到我今天早上看到了什么。连读分析：

what /(h)wɑt/结尾的/t/和I/aɪ/产生连读，一起读作/(h)wɑtaɪ/。如果是偏美式的发音，/t/在连读过程中会变成/d/，非常轻的/d/带过哦！

「核心单词掌握」

1. housewarming /ˈhaʊsˌwɔrmɪŋ/ n.乔迁聚会（注意！这是一个名词！）

搭配：

to have/ give/ throw a house-warming party

举行乔迁聚会

「实用口语表达」

1. kick sb. out 赶走某人

例句：

I don't know what I did, she wants to kick me out.

我不知道我做了什么，她想把我赶走。

2. fill sb. in 向…...通报

固定搭配：

to fill sb in on sth

向某人通告某事

例句：

Now that I'm back, why don't you just fill me in on what you've been up to.

现在既然我回来了何不告诉我你做了什么。

例句：

Thanks for filling me in on that.

感谢你告诉我这（件事）。

3. peek into sth. 窥视某事/某物

例句：

He peeked into the box and saw that his wife had gotten him a new watch for Christmas.

他往盒子里看了一眼，发现他的妻子给他买了一块新的圣诞节手表。

4. creep sb. out 使得......感到害怕

例句：

That guy in the corner was really creeping us out, so we decided to leave.

角落里的那个人真的把我们吓坏了，所以我们决定离开。
