of moment 和 of the moment 貌合神离的罪魁祸首是 the

有的人谈“to”色变，因为它的“双面性”，有的人谈“the”迷惑，因为有时上下文缺失；除非是明确的或独一无二的存在等之外，在上下文不明确的情形之下，the 的特指就显得模棱两可，因为听话者不知道你的所指，如 of the moment.

基于我们对这个世界的认知，地球是世界上独一无二的存在，因此我们可以在脱离具体的上下文中直接使用 the earth 而不造成指代不明，例如：The earth revolves around the sun.地球绕着太阳转。

然而在具体的上下文中，the earth 却不一定指的是独一无二的地球，它还可以表示陆地或地面等，此时的 the earth 就是特指，那么必须有具体的上下文，例如：

After a week at sea, it was good to feel the earth beneath our feet again.出海一周后，重新踏上陆地感到很愉快。

它常用在一些短语中，表示短暂的时间，如 in a moment，at any moment 或 wait a moment 等等，例如：
